The Milestone Droid is known as one of the huge comeback from Motorola. Among all the tight competitions of smartphones in the market, Motorola has been successfully joining as one of the strong competitors after releasing the first generation of Milestone Droid. The new Motorola Milestone 2 XT701 unlocked phone took off the QWERTY keyboard and replaced a multi-touched screen input. Because the QWERTY keyboard has been taken off, Milestone 2 XT701 is only 10.9mm in thickness. Consumers can put inside pockets freely without taking up much space.

The specs of Milestone 2 XT701 are quite similar with Milestone. They both have a 3.7 inches touch screen monitor with Full WVGA resolution. Using ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz processor with an internal built in 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and 8GB storage. An upgrade in the OS has been made on the XT701 to have it runs on Android 2.1 Eclair OS. It also supports Google software such as Google search, GMail, Google Maps.

Instead of retaining the Dual LED Flash Milestone has, XT701 has enhanced its 5.0MP auto-focused camera with a Xenon flash, which provides a better control in lighting without giving high exposure. The camera also supports face and smile detection as well as geo-tagging.
