Nokia has recently announced the newest member of the N series, N8. It will join the market in the third season of 2010. The N-series from Nokia is best known for the excellence in camera. No surprise, the biggest highlight of Nokia N8 is the quality of its camera. The Nokia N8 unlocked smartphone is the first Nokia cellular phone carries a camera over 10MP. N8 has a 12MP camera with a 28mm wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens (famous lens brand), along with a Xenon flash (able to take stunning pictures under low light setting). Picture quality of N8 is definitely comparable with digital cameras. Beside the high quality focal point, N8 also supports auto-focusing, face and smile detection. There is also a photo/video editing application within just like other N-series cellular phones.

The Nokia N8 cellular phone supports 720p HD video capturing (25frames/sec). There is a HDMI output on the body where it can be linked directly to a HD TV to look at high quality photos and HD video files. N8 also supports Dolby Digital Plus via HDMI, with high quality video and sounds, N8 can turn into a portable mini home theatre.

N8 has a 3.5inches touchscreen with 360x640 resolution scratch resistant Gorilla glass OLED display screen. It supports multi-touch input method. N8 uses a new operating system calls Symbian^3. It is basically an upgrade of the pre-existing Nokia S60 5.0 OS. Symbian^3 has augmented the function on memory management, so that when consumer is multi-tasking on applications, it will be faster and more efficient.

Using ARM 11 680 MHz processor, 3D Graphics HW accelerator, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. N8 comes with 16GB internal memory, N8 can also support microSD memory card up to 32GB. In total, N8 can have as many as 48GB in memory. It can save a lot of pictures, movies, and video files. Battery cannot be exchanged because the battery is built inside the phone.

Another huge feature N8 focuses on is social networking. Its Social feature includes Facebook, Twitter, Ovi (Nokia brand application store). The idea is similar to HTC's Friend Stream. Under one window, updates of friends will be displayed from all social networks. Posting self update to difference social networking websites can also be done at once as well.
