N900 is a new production of smartphone in Nokia. Unlike other N series from Nokia, the Nokia N900 unlocked cellular phone withdrew the typical Symbian S60 OS and adopt a newly designed Linux based Maemo 5 OS with 256MB RAM and ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz CPU. Compared with Nokia N97, N900 has a similar outlook using a side-slide full QWERTY keyboard. It has a larger body than N97 with a 3.5 inches screen display and 800x480 screen resolution. N900 has the highest screen resolution among Nokia smartphones up to date.

By applying the new Maemo 5 OS, its main feature is to enhance the speed and function of data processing, where Nokia is attempting to make N900 to act as a hand-held computer device. N900 works like a mini-computer. It supports multi-tasking without lagging. N900 can open up several applications to work at the same time and display in the dashboard. Widgets used from Symbian S60 could be made in Maemo 5 versions. The browser of Maemo 5 also supports Flash 9.4 which let consumers to be able to play flash games from facebook.

Nokia N900 uses a 5.0 Carl Zeiss lens. Carl Zeiss is well-known to be a good quality lens brand. The camera supports auto-focused, built along with a duel LED flash as well as 800x480 pixels wide screen video capturing. Not only N900 includes A-GPS, Wi-Fi and HSPA network. N900 is also welcoming the entrance of Ovi store, a place for consumers to download apps quicker than before.
